While preparing to give a speech at his best friend’s wedding many years ago, Mark’s wife whispered a quick piece of advice: “stay grounded.” In that moment, he took off his shoes and, barefoot, delivered a hilarious and well-received toast. That same advice has been at the center of Mark’s 20+ year career in sales. For him, ‘selling’ is less about a product and more about connecting, learning, and offering real solutions that help individuals and companies excel.
After receiving a BA in Communication from Tulane University, Mark began an impressive career in sales, working with an array of clients ranging from finance and technology to healthcare and automotive. Prior to joining the Own The Room team, Mark spent 16 years at Bloomberg, with nearly a decade as the Head of TV Ad Sales for Bloomberg Media Group. There, he managed advertising partnerships with major clients like Acura, Boeing, Infiniti, and Microsoft. Mark also worked in ad sales for MTV, managing 100+ active advertisers across multiple entertainment networks.
Mark is passionate about giving back. While at Bloomberg, he was honored as one of the organization’s Top Philanthropic Contributors, receiving his award from Whoopi Goldberg during the ceremony. An NCAA D1 scholarship swimmer at Tulane, Mark has evolved from swim meet carb-loading into a life as consummate foodie; in addition to regularly exploring new restaurants around his home in New York City, he even co-hosted an ethnic dining radio segment on WBBR Radio.
